Union Square Psychotherapy

Privacy policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

This policy describes how Union Square Psychotherapy (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles information collected through this website (usqtherapy.org). It does not govern the handling of patient health information, which is subject to HIPAA and the terms of our Notice of Privacy Practices provided at the start of treatment.

Information we collect

Usage data via Google Analytics (GA4). When you visit this site, Google Analytics collects anonymized information about how you navigate it — pages visited, approximate location (city level), device type, and referring source. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymization enabled and have disabled Google Signals and ad personalization. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

Intake scheduling via Acuity Scheduling. When you schedule an intake consultation, you are directed to a form hosted by Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace product). Information you provide there is governed by Squarespace’s Privacy Policy. We maintain a Business Associate Agreement with Acuity Scheduling as required under HIPAA.

Direct contact. If you contact a clinician directly via email or phone, any information you share is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with our professional and legal obligations.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to distinguish repeat visitors and track session activity. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. You may disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, which will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit.

How we use this information

We use aggregated, anonymized analytics data solely to understand how visitors use this website and to improve it. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use it to identify, profile, or contact individual visitors.

Third-party services

This site uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Your rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA regarding personal information we hold about you. If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because we collect only anonymized analytics data, we generally cannot identify individual visitors to fulfill such requests regarding website analytics. For any privacy-related questions, please contact us.
